Our client is a financially strong, European Investment and Asset Management firm operating in five different geographies, with over 9 million customer accounts, delivering strong financial returns.

It established its independent fund management business and closed its first flagship c.EUR 1.7 billion fund in 2020 and is now in the process of raising its second fund. As part of the growth of this division, it has recently established a new Operations Department. The Operations Department is a critical function to the continued growth and success of the Fund Business. It aims to provide support and structure to the fund through the deal/fund lifecycle to enable effective management and scalability. As a result, they are now are recruiting an Operations Director to join, shape, and lead the team. We are also recruiting an Operations Manager and Operations Admin Executive to join this team, who will report to the Operations Director once appointed. This is a permanent role and can be based in either Manchester or London with some home working.

The Operations Director will be joining a dynamic organisation, working alongside the Fund COO, CFO, and other senior members of a growing organisation across the legal, finance, tax, structuring, and investment areas. Initially reporting to the Fund Portfolio Manager Director, the Operations Director will help ensure new transactions are effectively executed and managed, manage all fund-related operational matters and drive overall fund operational effectiveness.

The individual will have the autonomy to help shape and develop the role over time, but initial areas of focus will include:

Transformation of the fund operations department to scale for future funds;

Oversight of fund level entity structures and operating mechanics, including identifying areas for operating efficiency (cash maximisation and cost efficiency) and preparation for future growth, including any resultant implementation;

Oversight of external service providers, central functions and Servicing Platforms, where services are provided to support Fund Operations;

Oversight of the Fund Management System and ensuring it is kept up to date at all times;

Ensuring the successful execution of fund management and other deal related activities. This will include the review and input into the execution of legal documents including for new portfolio acquisitions, origination and securitisation. Documents will include Sale and Purchase Agreements, Servicing Agreements, Cash Management Agreements, and Securitisation agreements;

Ensuring robust and scalable post-deal management processes are in place from deal closing to onward portfolio management and eventual portfolio sale;

Supporting the COO and Portfolio Manager Director with key strategic projects in the growth and development of the Fund.

Requirements

Experience:

  • Experience in Finance Services (Banking, Accountancy or Fund Management) or Legal Services is essential

  • Experience in business-facing, commercially focused environments is essential

  • Transactional experience, with knowledge of acquisition, debt financing and/or securitisation documentation is essential

  • Experience in Fund Management Middle / Back Office is desirable

  • Strong leadership, people, and communication skills

  • Structured and methodical, with strong attention to detail & accuracy

  • Extremely organised and able to meet tight deadlines under multiple competing priorities

  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills

Benefits

£100,000 - £162,500 per annum, negotiable
