They now require an experienced Project Manager with a Software - Data background to work fully independently and be able to support the Head of Delivery in refining the business processes and representing the team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills will be required along with a

Plan and oversee all aspects of a project, and meet the project's goals on time and within budget. Requires a keen ability to work well with people, and manage tasks and resources to bring about a successful conclusion.

Key accountabilities

Successfully coordinating timely and prioritised software delivery, managing appropriate testing, and delivering regular program updates. Leading the planning and implementation of projects.

Create and maintain project documentation such as risk/issue logs, meeting minutes, meeting schedules, project summaries, and updates.

Create and maintain project schedules by developing project plans and specifications, estimating time and resources, monitoring milestone completion, tracking all phases of the project lifecycle, providing timely reporting of issues that impact project progress, coordinating actions, and escalating conflicts.

Able to plan and own deliverables, report progress, identify risks, and facilitate an environment that enables the development and QA teams to deliver, as planned.

Track delivery progress.

Manage risk.

Ensure that multiple release cycles are being prepared and worked on in parallel to ensure that there is an uninterrupted flow of work.

Manage escalations, seek advice (when necessary) or manage independently the decision as to when escalations and interventions are required.

People Management - organise people, tasks, and resources to bring about a successful conclusion. Resource planning and allocation.

Stakeholder management and reporting -

Write informative, high standard, and relevant weekly reports to update stakeholders on the key activities, risks, issues, progress, and next steps

Prepare, deliver and minute stakeholder meetings to update all key stakeholders on progress, risks, delivery status, etc, and also to take direction on the next priorities and issue handling.

Comfortable and confident to report to and challenge senior leaders

Managing internal and external client relationships

Ability to work with minimal direction & adhere to project delivery processes, yet also able to work as part of a team.

Ensure that multiple release cycles are being prepared and worked on in parallel to ensure that there is an uninterrupted flow of work.

Defining a project’s scope and goals, including budgetary objectives

Indirect Reports: Developers, Analysts, UI/UX Designers, and QAs

Requirements

Knowledge, skills, and experience


  • Experience in delivering projects in a software environment.

  • Experience of using Jira

  • Evidence of ability to consistently deliver mid-size and complexity deliverables to plan with little support and intervention

  • knowledge of AGILE project management methodologies is desired

  • Prince 2 Practitioner is also desired


In return, they are offering a highly competitive salary and benefits package of £40-45,000 basic + benefits. The role will be primarily based from home with perhaps one of two days a month in the head office in Swindon so this still needs to be a sensible commute.
